Open studios offer a unique opportunity for the public to meet resident artists in their studios.  Visitors get  a rare glimpse into each artist's creative process,  the vital role they play in the AOTA family, and the impact the org is having in  communities such as lower Manhattan. Participating artists Gustavo Fernandez, Claudia Echeverría and Franck de las Mercedes will also offer personal tours of their spaces and the works on view. Art on the Ave NYC has partnered with Bettina Equities Management to provide a  space to give opportunities for artists to connect with wider audiences and showcase their artwork. The open studios will take place every Thursday and Saturday from 3 - 6 PM.

Claudia Echeverria, also known as CLoD—a Venezuelan-born artist, is living and working in New York. Her TribalPop style blends ancestral symbolism with contemporary abstraction.

Gustavo Fernández  Fernandez moved to NYC to live his dream of making art in the Big Apple. He is inspired by people and  stories- the way they intertwine and connect us, create shared experience, and ultimately lead to true empathy.

Franck de las Mercedes is a Nicaraguan interdisciplinary artist. His multifaceted body of work and public art projects aim to explore the challenges and commonalities in understanding, articulating, and embracing the harsh and usually contradictory realities of contemporary life.  

About Art on the Ave NYC:
ART ON THE AVE NYC is a non-profit community organization founded by school teachers in the summer of 2020. They are dedicated to the elevation of local artists and the revitalization of neighborhoods. Art on the Ave uses both empty storefronts and existing businesses to create street-facing displays for everyone to enjoy.
