LUX Contemporary presents Crowned Dance, a solo exhibition by fine art photographer Alex Yazlovsky, opening June 5, 2025. The exhibition centers on red-crowned cranes photographed in the snowy wetlands of Hokkaido, Japan, capturing their courtship dances in large-format prints. Yazlovsky’s images evoke a quiet tension between movement and stillness, reflecting traditional Japanese aesthetics while calling attention to the endangered birds' fragile existence.
An opening reception will be held Thursday, June 5, from 6–8 PM, with the artist speaking at 7 PM. The exhibition runs through June 30. Yazlovsky is an award-winning photographer whose work has been recognized by the IPA Photography Awards, PX3 Paris Photo, and Tokyo International Foto Awards. LUX Contemporary, curated by Emanuel Friedman, specializes in private collections of 20th- and 21st-century street, abstract, and neo-pop art.
