Kambada brings the Marivaldo Project back to New York in an intimate quartet format,with percussion, bass, saxophone and piano in a set of original compositions that blend Afro-Brazilian rhythm, jazz, hip-hop and electronic sound in a way that feels modern,personal and deeply Brazilian.

Born in Salvador, Bahia, Marivaldo dos Santos is a composer, percussionist and producer, featured performer in STOMP for over two decades, and collaborator of Sting,Gilberto Gil, Caetano Veloso, The Fugees, Lauryn Hill, Wyclef Jean, CeeLo Green, Eliane Elias, Joshua Bell, Ivete Sangalo, Daniela Mercury and Bill Frisell. He is also the founder of Quabales, a socio-educational music project in Salvador, and Favellê Music,an independent label dedicated to artists from Brazil's favelas.
