Celebrate 140 years of University Settlement at this FREE, family-friendly block party on Saturday, September 26, from 11:00 am–5:00 pm on Manhattan’s Lower East Side!

University Settlement, America’s first settlement house, invites New Yorkers of all ages to enjoy an afternoon of outdoor fun, music, games, art, food and community. The celebration takes place on Eldridge Street in front of the historic University Settlement House, built in 1898.

Activities include a ping pong tournament, nostalgic games by the Museum at Eldridge Street, carnival fun, face painting, a DJ dance party featuring Bad Bunny, salsa, Chinese/Cantonese classics and Lower East Side punk rock, Tai Chi, dance and music performances, a community art project, community resources, indoor art making and more.

And what’s a party without free food? Enjoy empanadas, pork buns, popcorn and ice cream while celebrating 140 years of University Settlement and the Lower East Side community.
