Mortu Nega
Diminga (Bya Gomes) and her lover Sako (Tunu Eugenio Almada) are torn apart during their country's struggle for independence over Portugal. The country is united against the Portuguese and hopeful they will be autonomous. Four years later, Sako returns crippled from battle as the nation suffers through a terrible drought and famine. With a left-wing government in power, the once-united country is divided again. Diminga and a crowd of followers pray for rain during a ceremony that celebrates the dead and the living. Over 3,000 extras were used in this war drama in the final scene.~ Dan Pavlides, All Movie Guide
